Wow, that track at the Warp site really blows me away. ('VI Code Spoilse' -
click on the link under 'Warp News Headlines' at
http://www.warprecords.com) I wasn't very interested in 'ep7' cos I found
it way too crunchy and compressed... zero dynamics, lots of noise, over 70
minutes... I think there are people doing more interesting sound design
than that. This new track strikes me as similarly adventurous, but the
actual choice of sounds is much more in keeping with my tastes.
The subtly shifting rhythms culminating and pops and bursts (maybe just my
modem connection, but sounding good ;-) reminded me some of Zammuto's
'Willscher'.
