Let's not forget the history of dance culture, for which vinyl is/was
central (and let's *please* not turn this into a debate about vinyl mixing
vs. CD mixing). Even much non-club-oriented electronic music is generally
marketed with at least a tangential relationship to dance music; thus the
persistence of vinyl and vinyl-only releases.
