yeah. for a while, myself and a friend noticed that every hit song was
track 3. of course, this was back in the 90-95 era, but it's like any
situation - when you only have about 10-13 tracks per album, and with the
quantity of tracks that come out, you can pretty much notice any trend you
like :)
i do like how a lot of IDM albums put really really good tracks towards the
beginning, which i think is more of the result of IDM being a tad more
obscure. in my opinion, obscure albums tend to be *much* more cohesive as
a whole... likely because the artist makes the album :) so it starts off
strong, and goes from there. but that's probably just in my head too :)
but yeah, look at some older albums. you'll notice that a lot of them have
the single as track 3 :)
