Why I sent Urb a copy of STR 003 - because they always review things a few
months late, so I figured they were desperate for records. Because they had
"abstract" and "experimental" pages. Because they reviewed albums of artists
I hadn't previously expected to find in Urb.
I used to read Urb fairly regularly a few years back, when I was more into
dancy dancy music (and when it seemed much better - San Francisco hasn't
done much lately) and I still pick it up from time to time, so don't slag it
too bad. Heck, they reviewed us. Hrvatski did a guest review for them. I see
records in there all the time that I've only previously read about on IDM.
Urb's not all good, but it's better than say, Alternative Press, which
really does pander and then obscure.
