I've been doing a couple of live PAs, mostly on gear. Started up with so many stuff, I'd lose where to start at one point. Now I run a more minimal setup to do a much more minimal set but I've also been practicing those sets on my puter and here's some stuff i realised: - You can use Fruity Loops to do your live but I strongly suggest you work with 1 open program instead of 2. The reason is simple, I've tried it with 2 programs using my soundblaster and my Delta 44 and It would be unstable at some moments. The more you use, the higher the risks. - So, I did a lil live in my studio with 60 loops and variants running with my midi controller (doepfer 64 knobs) and it was interesting... I felt like a skilled DJ. - I've tried using AudioMulch and it was quite a thrill building my own environment, using tons of granulators, bubble blowers, loop players. It felt alot more lighter and faster. I felt like Vald Delay... Results were interesting but a bit chaotic. - I've builted a similar environment in Reaktor but never really finnished it as I would get lost with all my wires and stuff. The first results are yet unknown. - As a Beta tester of Tassman and friend of mr. Deadbeat (on Background), I tried building an environment but im not there yet... But I felt like it was AudioMulch but less chaotic. That was my point ;) _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
