Had to chime in here now that a fellow game slave has come out from the
dark- I'm an artist at Midway Games here in Chicago, doing my best to spread
the electronic music bug to my fellow pixelpushers (I even have a turntable
in my office). Seems to be catching on (we have a group that tries to catch
the \bin events regularly- are they officially over, Mike?), though
sometimes I get a quizzical look from people as they pass by my office
hearing the abstract beatz. Gotta have something to get through a long day
of modelin' & texturin'.
Employee faves: The standards (Autechre, BoC), Boulderdash has caught on
like mad since my disc made the rounds last year (I should get a commission
for units sold), Minimal techno like Farben and Kompakt/Perlon label stuff
(looove Perlon!), and dark drum'n'bass (Ram Trilogy & Bad Co stylee). Also
Ennio Morricone and Roy Budd soundtracks.
