Your best bet for IDM related goodies that you can preview (on vinyl at least) is Off The Record in the Hillcrest suburb of San Diego... (San Diego's Castro if you will). Near the corner of University Ave. and 5th Ave. Just minutes south of you is Lou's Records -- one of the best record stores in southern California. Take I-5 south, exit Leucadia Blvd. Turn right. Then turn left on Hwy 101, and go until you see the big sign on your right. Pretty decent selection of dance music there, though unfortunately they don't have preview/listening stations (for vinyl at least). There's two halves to the store -- The "New" and the "Used". I usually find a lot more gems in the "Used" section, personally. But your mileage may vary. There's also Elevator records on E street in downtown, between 9th and 10th. Ave (Next to POKEZ, the best mostly veggie Mexican restaurant ever). They have an experimental section, but mainly concentrate on other genres, like house, and what not. ======================================================================= Brian MacDonald <brianm@kuci.org> ======================================================================= --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
