i think it's great that there is an easier access to gear. I don't think
that electronic music should be limited to persons with a lot of money to
throw around on gear or only those who happen to have easier access to
dealers of said gear.
I think one might be able to view the flipside and take a look at the tons
of material out there as inspiring. I personally have a lot more to choose
from, and I have a greater opportunity to find material that is top
notch.... also, it makes me want to record more of my own tracks, because I
think any musician has his egocentric moments of "I can do better than
that.....", or even just being so impressed with a new recording that it
makes him/her want to get back in the studio and start working on new
things.
I don't really think it's elitist to have your attitude or perspective,
although I think it is easy to become jaded in any music or art scene.
