This is an interesting point, and maybe one that a lot of people haven't
thought about.
With programming environments like Max/MSP, people design and build their
own instruments. Not sounds, instruments. Entirely new methods of
creating and performing electronic music are percolating in the minds of
those who are willing to spend hours in front of the screen watching numbers
flow around in little networks they create.
