I noticed a Thomas Brinkman 12", apparently part of a new series of 12" eps following up the 'women's names' series with a 'men's names' set. it was the first i'd seen of it and it would seem he's already up to the letters e and f ("Ekkehart" and "Friedrich"). Blue covers instead of the female series orange, each side has one long track. Anyone know anything more? Has he in fact released letters A through D? Are they any good? Ekkehart and Friedrich are sparse, funky, borderline plodding. Seems like the point is sustaining a minimal development over a long duration. Of course the women's names series had kind of an overall arc to the series, beginning with fairly spartan, minimal tracks and working up to much more elaborate tracks as the alphabet wore on. Perhaps he's doing the same thing, hence the sparseness for letters e and f.... kurt --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
