this is a bad misconception based on the later (and much more prolific) period of his life/work. I do not enjoy the loop, post late 1996 releases, but bryn made some
absolutley amazing ambient/atmospheric music prior to that. yes, most songs do have drums, but the elements over them are so entrancing and wonderful... releases like this
are early releases "Zul'm" and "Vote Hezbollah" (this is basically his best), mid period "Mullah Said" "Maroon" "Return of Black September", "Salaam Aleikum, Bastard",
"sandtrafikar" and "gun aramaic 2". finding a good source on MG is essential, as you can swim forever in some of the crap, loop loop loop stuff he released, which seems
to be the most avaiblibe...
soleilmoon has also made comps, which are very good as they provide some nice variety and add a stranger's hand to the organization, which makes the material more
presentable to non-believers, although less "him"-sounding (and therefore weaker) to the few... (they also take material from the really good albums, which are almost
universally out of print)
