Well first of all the title track's my least favorite thing on the EP, but
his programming is still damn good on that and unlike anyone else's. The
second track also has some great programming and is pretty complex by IDM
standards. And the last track is a very beautiful piece and the concept of
creating a whole piece out of sounds from a music box is great. The thing
that makes it great is that he's doing things that no other IDM artist is
doing, he doesn't repeat himself and is constantly evolving. I mean when
was the last time an IDM record really surprised you ?
I think besides Autechre he's basically the only one doing anything new in
IDM and a lot of people seem to hate them for that. (Please keep the
flames to a minimum.) There are a few other names doing things, but I
don't think they're doing things that are as significant.

My friend, if you think that's "deep" music you don't know what deep is.
And no, I don't think ambient stuff is boring, but if I made a list of my
favorite "ambient" records there'd be a lot of stuff on it which people
probably wouldn't typically label as such. Eno's "Music For Airports" is
probably one of my favorite records though.

Well, we just have different opinions. It all sounds great to me and I
generally prefer the psot-HAB material to what came beforehand.
