i had the word pram in my head today for some reason. just wouldn't leave, either. luomo is wonderful. love vocalcity. most people that don't like house, don't like it because it's "repetitive." i can understand that, although something changed me a while back. i LOVE house. sure there's time when i don't feel like hearing it, and all that can settle me is something out of the banging on the pots n pans variety. but sometimes i just want some clean production, some smooth lyric bits that just instill the fonziness in me, and something that just plain makes me groove. i think it was dj dimitri who said that house is just sex through the speakers. and there's something to be said for that. it's fun. and fun, is good. if you're looking for some good house to get into, a few suggestions of mine : 1) marques wyatt - sound design v.1 (this new OM release is incredible... deep, conga-heavy, afrocuban inspirations everywhere, and a couple beautiful vocal tracks) 2) mark farina - san francisco sessions 3) mark farina - imperial dub sessions 4) terry lee brown jr. - terry's cafe 2 (more along the tech house plastic city type shit, but some nice house in there.) so... my night consisted of going to a friend's birthday party. the crowd was quite mixed. from wannabe hard gangster types, to artsy folk, to flamboyantly gay folk. the music was interesting too. you'd get 2 shifts. the one's that liked the miami bass and "freestyle" (where the hell did that name come from? what's so freestyle about it????), to the one's that only went inside to hear the 80's and goth stuff. funny stuff, really. met a cute girl who seemed really interested in me... but i was too busy getting drunk and stupid with the male friends. sucks. didn't realize i messed up until i was already in the car, leaving. funny. luomo just came on my winamp. Class. has to be my favorite luomo track. so what's the deal with uusitalo? what can be told of this alias? the phone company hates me. a. -----Original Message----- From: PMC [mailto:pm.carey@utoronto.ca] Sent: Sunday, November 12, 2000 1:35 AM To: idm@hyperreal.org; ambient@hyperreal.org Subject: [idm] FS: Broadcast, Pram & more ...
