of lime name your top 5 or 10 or however many electronic or otherwise releases of all time...that if they are not currently or easily available, you would have NO (zero, zip, empty set, etc...) problems copying for someone getting into this type of music. Music that is so classic, so timeless that everyone should experience it :) any takers? I'll thow out a top X list that I've been stewing over while making dinner here (EST), in no particular order Orb's adventures beyond the ultraworld Orbital - brown album Aphex - SAW I Squarepusher - Feed me weird things Artificial INtelligence I and II Plastikman - Sheet I Journey's by DJs - Coldcut (this is the only one I can think of that's out of print?) Derrick May - Innovator Um - I really can't think of any glitch, or dub classics. For that matter no techno or house ALBUMS are coming to mind as essential or those that really capture the essence of a style. I'd love for some suggestions here. I'm probably missing a Pole or an Oval release, and maybe a basic channel compilation would square me away. Also, I haven't mentioned anything too funky, but I'm not quite into that side of things :) Here are some other suggestions made with reservations of being 'almost classic'. They may not have reached the critical acclaim level, however they are pretty special in their own right. Dave Clarke - archive 1(?) - essence of banging techno A jedi's knight out - mix CD Please add to the list tho' if there's enough response I'll compile the answers, and if there's not enough flame bait in this post, I better start talking about sex, that seems to get everyone worked up. -Gil --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
