well, hmm, i'd have to say the coldcut show in mpls i saw 2 hours ago :) especially because there is just so much to SEE!! unfortunately, it seems that most of minneapolis wouldn't know good music if it bit them in the butt. people didn't even fill up the floor until coldcut were established on stage and did their "hello minneapolis" screen, and even then there was a lot of room. you could actually walk through the dance-floor area, and if you're watching where you're going, avoid getting elbowed or kicked or whatever... although i think the people there were more into jungle than hip-hop. ah well. geez, no wonder these acts don't come here more. although matt black did walk right by me right before the doors opened up :) eeeeee!! hehe oh hey, live review. they started wif beats 'n pieces (wif the excellent jungle book samples, which seem to be a mainstay in this tour), moved on to some funky stuff, and uhh they played some things that might be "new" but most of it was still from the "let us play" album. heh, it's funny how people get all up in arms over artists taking more than a couple years to release albums, yet everyone loves coldcut and if you don't love coldcut, see them live. yum! cheers, /derek p.s. thanks to those who recommended "hearos" ear 'filters.' my friend and myself tried out the cheapy foam ones, and it's nice being able to leave a venue, take the earplugs out, and then talk in a normal conversational tone :) and the show still sounded great (better, actually, cos my ears didn't hurt) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
