i don't know what's worse... the lingering impact of twelve years of
reagan and bush snr's military-industrial spending sprees and halving
of the currency value which only put this country a few trillions in

or my current music buying habits, which are almost but not quite as frivolous.
in seriousness though, tipper probably did more to point kids to the
good stuff, and did more for the music industry to sell records than
any prude before her. most of the american audience for idm probably
wouldn't exist in its current form without her influence on our
tastes.
but ignoring more than a decade of ultra right-wing, hard-fisted rule
is a bit tough for some of us. sorry, joel.
