it was some kind of modular synth with patch cords right? and there appeared to be some kind of theremein device. i thought the performance was stunning. it made me reevaluate the entire album. i was impressed by the level of creativity that was obviously at work. i was at a party watching it, and a girl (very mainstream musical tastes) pretty much gave the reaction i think most people are going to have: "this is radiohead? it doesn't sound like radiohead." so i wouldn't worry about idm getting co-opted by the mainstream US masses just yet; i think a more likely reaction is that they will just pass it off as "weird" or something. g.
