Aside from the fact that J5 are some of the very few hip hop acts
who actually puts together a decent live performance, the turntablism
is absolutely awesome. Beat Junkies performances are every bit as
crazy and abstract as any autechre record, and cut chemist's antics
are great. The set he does with numark (the other j5 dj) is phenomenal.
Dilated People are about like they are on record. Tight, but not particularly
engaging.
Great music, great party, be the best $20 you spend all year going out ...
