Again, the concept that Bjork might actually be a interesting musician in her own right seems to escape some people, as if there must be some reason to work with her besides the fact that she's a great artist (I still think it's unconscious sexism). Regardless of who she works with, her music has a distinct and unique sound (when she writes songs for other singers you can hear it immediately - how many musicians can you identify simply by the sound of a melody? Prince comes to mind ...) that clearly is her own and not her collaborators'. In many cases her collaborators have done their very best work with her, with most of their non-Bjork work not quite measuring up (IMHO). Anyway, a friend of mine saw her last week on an Amtrak train in upstate New York, working with some music software on her laptop.
