sshhhh well not to burst your bubble (pop pop), but music making in a non-jam format tends to work less effectively with more people. plus, as with any genre, there will be few situations where the people involved will appreciate the same artists and song styles. compromises can be made, but why compromise when you can work alone and achieve the results you really want? for me, i work alone because i prefer making music that i want, rather than making music that i kinda like and someone else kinda likes too. plus it's just not as fun unless you do it all live, because, unless you have 2 fast computers, someone's gonna be stuck watching, which is (imo) a pretty lame way to make music ;) now, using hardware and synths and samplers for duos can work, and it's always nice to bounce ideas off someone, but most duos are friends first, music-group second, so... but hey, it's a possibly fun idea. don't let me ruin your dreams simply because my opinion is different. if you find someone in the area and crank out some good tunes, then more power to ya and i'd be very pleased to be proven wrong :) cheers, /derek ----------- "Extremism is no vice when God's on your side" -Opus the Penguin --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
