i'd say matmos does a pretty good job of steering clear of other people's
sounds. pretty original stuff.
oval i suppose verges on microscopic sounds if you want to get picky, but
his work has forged virtually an entire genre since oval's inception in the
early-mid nineties.
these are 2 fairly mid-high profile acts that dodge comparisons to most
other artists, and if anything (esp in the case of oval) cause comparisons
when examining newer, less original artists.
