Well, *Zoolook *and *Zoolookologie *are not «*those albums*», as these are tracks from the same *Zoolook *album actually. «*Music from the mind's eye*» is an interesting sentence by the way, as this is probably how John Doe or Joe Public would rate any of your favourite IDM albums. Let's get straight to the point anyway : «*stock wavetable sounds*». I totally agree and am comfor(wave)table about this in fact. I mean what's not to like in these static and crude sounding «rough cut» waveforms ?! I find some kind of a naive art appeal to them, and i really mean it, so this is no irony of off-beat humour at all. These sounds are so inexpressive that they eventually only speak for themselves. I'm no longer into «*slowly rotating gourad shaded cube or something*» anymore but yes, *Bit Arts*' *Ba1 *or *Walkman*'s *We're the devils *remain among my all-time favourite tracks for instance. I do sincerely enjoy every bit art of it : → *https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIhg9RhbCfM <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIhg9RhbCfM>* → *https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OMoABraZQQ <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OMoABraZQQ>* Back to *Jarre*, these couple of *Zoolook *tracks admittedly sound a little cheesy but i like it that way. For some more *Squarepusher*-friendly take on those frosty *Synclavier *tones and provided you haven't done yet, you might give a listen to *Zappa*'s *Jazz from hell* : → *https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQomGo2meR8 <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQomGo2meR8>* Wicked. But ultimately, of course, *Depeche Mode*'s mid/late-80s stuff are among the finest achievements mankind ever created to my ears. The Unesco should actually consider adding them to their list if you ask me. On Tue, Sep 1, 2015 at 8:17 PM, Clint Anderson <clinta@gmail.com> wrote:
