ovalprocess
ovalprocess equally represents an innovative music software application -
exclusively designed for the MacOS (running on a Apple PowerMac G3 and
above) even though Windows95/98 & Java versions are considered - as
much as it serves as the core engine to an innovative oval sound
installation centered around one or several publicly accessible sound
terminals running the ovalprocess application; rendering the exhibit a
customizable, collaborative
audio workspace.

In short, ovalprocess is an interactive authoring environment for personal
contemporary desktop audio with an accessible, direct manipulative, fully
iconic, object-oriented, real-time user interface.process software UI, help
screen overlays. The application focuses less on the usual sampling- /
mixing- and editing-functionality of generic productivity software, but
serves as an interactive authoring tool along the lines of the oval
approach to sound and structure in general. ovalprocess is effectively
enabling the user/audience to configure, layout and perform customized
recordings oval-style by radically restructuring the provided audio content
on a complex, yet intuitive and easy-to-
use basis.

ovalprocess will also be serving as the frontend / software interface to a
new oval sound installation concept which is centered around a publicly
accessible sound terminal, running ovalprocess on a PowerMacintosh &
LCD monitor residing in a custom-built front-end of furniture-like style
and proportions - providing intuitive and easy access to the provided oval
audio content via a convenient trackpad interface. The publicly installed
version
will be offering an initial set of pre-installed audio presets, consisting
of assorted loops from recent oval sound-file archives, serving as a
reliable musical basis to start from. A projection of the screen content of
