providing live soundtracks to famous (or not so famous) movies has been around a long time. I don't think any one person<s> can be credited with the idea. Wire a couple years back ran some stories on this subject. In austin, I saw metropolis with a soundtrack provided by st37 (if I remember correctly) and it was amazing.
