The one you've found is the Planet E version of ART1. As far as I've heard (this could be a wholly insubstantial rumour, so don't take my word for it :) Carl Craig and Kirk DeGiorgio made some sort of a deal that Planet E would release A.R.T. domestically in the US and in exchange there would be Planet E material released on A.R.T. in the UK. This produced PEART1 on Planet E, the one you have, and Craig's Psyche/BFC EP (ART3) on A.R.T. But, there are three different versions of ART1: the original one (A.R.T. ART1 12" 1991/2?) with the track listing Balil: Nort Route (remix) Atypic: Blah Future/Past: Clinically Inclined (remix) As One: Amalia and the Planet E one (Planet E PEART1 12" 1992) Balil: Nort Route Future/Past: Clinically Inclined Esoterik: Interiors _and_ finally, the R&S version, (R&S Records RS92010 12" 1992) as Future/Past: ART 1 EP (of which I don't have a track listing because I don't have that one, I have only the A.R.T. and Planet E versions - but the R&S version does have a different track listing so I'd like to have that one, too :). And of course there's the 4x12" compilation of the first four A.R.T. releases, Objets d'A.R.T. on New Electronica (ELEC9LP, 1994) that has a repress of the original ART1 (allegedly from the same plates, even). From my point of view, you have found a pearl (unless Planet E has started repressing their back catalogue). And yes, Nort Route is probably one of the best Balil tracks right after Choke And Fly (on ART2.2). Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about anything so that I'll have something more to obsess about, especially the exchange between Planet E and A.R.T.
