i have done the same stuff, all it takes is $500 to buy a copy of Max/MSP
and about four hours to read the manual and go thru the tutorials ...
that's part of the reason i was so disenchanted w/the show
the challenge is taking that software and then actually using it to do
something interesting, which i don't think they managed to do... at least
last night.
nobukazu takemura is a great example of using the same tricks to much
better effect
