Here's I think what is an interesting question: Do you actually go out and dance? How does you exposure and enjoyment of more mainstream dance music inform your feelings about electronic listening music? This came to mind on my drive home from Detroit monday. I personally love going to clubs and hearing good DJs, whether it's techno, house, hiphop, IDM, funk, or lounge music. Since I started DJing I've zoomed in on all the vinyl I have from Aphex Twin, Black Dog, Cylob, etc on the tracks that actually work on the dance floor. I had the privelege of hearing Carlos Souffront spin a lot of classic tracks from the likes of Black Dog and Kirk Digiorgio saturday night, and the stuff really can work for dancing. Plus, if you never hear these records on a big system you're missing out bigtime. So what do you think? kent williams -- kent@avalon.net http://www.mp3.com/chaircrusher -- tunes http://www.live365.com/cgi-bin/directory.cgi?autostart=chaircrusher -- mix --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
