Something with idm that most fans adore, is the complexity, but most importantly the superiority of idm music over most other forms of music.>> Ah, thanks for the pigeon-holing, I'm glad to know that I'm a pretentious fuck like you. <<Kid 606 may be pressin his name, but that's just because most of his music needs press to sell it, cause it sucks. I am sorry, yes, I liked the soccergirl EP, his shit with Lexaunculpt...but even that is just good idm, not the real good stuff. Then he does stuff like "GQ on the EQ" which sounds like pins and static ripping my eardrums apart.>> Sounds like you didn't like it. You see, there are other genres apart from the IDM scene, hombre. Kid does not exclusively come from IDM, nor should he. His experimentations in sound are not universally shitty to everyone. Personally, I didn't like GQ very much either, but the techniques he used were used better on his new full-length. <<There is a thin line between chaos and the beauty idm artists often find in chaos (sometimes utter silence too).>> IDM! IDM! (Mensa cheerleading squad) <<Kid 606 is way over the line (on the shitty side). again, I am not saying he hasn't produced proper shit, but not what any great idm would do, and not worth the emails we are writing about him.>> Ah the great IDMers! Tremble in their presence! Conform to their musical pathways! Yut yut. Anyways, I'm not a fan of everything Kid has done, but I'd say that his fat cat split, his new LP and his remix work with the Locust are truly solid pieces of music that stand up amid all this hype going on. Kid live is awesome too. I realize there's a lot of hype out there, but I like what he puts out, so ::shrug::. << p.s. and what's this eminem remix shit. I know his NWA remix of "fuck the polic" was very well done for being such a hard idm song, but continuing that style by mixing eminem (and in a very annoying and repetitive fashion) was all wrong. >> From what I've heard, he never even remixed eminem, possibly some napster hoax?
