you'd be surprised. it all depends on the crowd, but i've played the scopex record out and didn't clear the floor. you don't have to dig back 15 years to find great electro. . other records to check out. . dopplereffekt album on hell's gigolo label. . - tons of dope tracks, if you can't find a track on here that moves the crowd, frighten them off with 'plasiphilia' . . . i w-w-want to fu-fu-fuck a ma-mane-mannequin, mannequin, mannequin. . anthony rother - red light district, sex with the machines, don't stop the beat, simul. . . on Elektrolux, and PSI49NET - tight, cleanly produced electro from one it's best artists. a good balance between old and new, and guaranteed to rock a floor. silicon scally - electrocide 2x12 on scsi voice stealer - all electric house 2x12 on subvert il. ek. tro - il. ek . tro vol. 1 and 2 on klang elektronik - all carl finlow projects. . some of the best shit out there. the ss release is darker, a little more minimal, and less floor-friendly, but definitely playable. . the voice stealer can't clear a floor, and the il. ek. tro is one the best records *ever*. . all perfect examples of the recent electro, sans cheese. . the il.ek.tro record is great to mix with, all 4 tracks are more than playable. its daz quayle (who runs scsi, the best dark electro label out there) and finlow together. . i-f - theme from pack, space invaders are smoking grass, playstation #1, fucking consumer, etc. . on Interdimensional Transmissions, and Disko B - one of the pioneers of the dutch sound. . the first three 12s are necessary to move the crowd, straight up analog shit. . if you want to get darker, and need something to mix with the scopex record, check the 2x12 on Interdimensional Transmissions for (i think) 'rage of aquarius'. the 2x12 has most of the other tracks also, so you can save some money instead of buying the singles. . that simulant 12 on scopex - you already have it, use it. . mixes well with everything from richie devine's 12 on schematic and Phoenecia's 12 on schematic (also very floor friendly without the obvious cheese), to the Wild Planet 2x12 on 430 West or Drexciya, to the Decal record on Trama Industries. . anything on the Clone / Viewlexx / Murdercapital labels. . - the dutch group of labels. . minimal, analog electro. . pick up the new Cosmic Force 12. tons more. . even with leaving out all of the Detroit shit. check www.submerge.com for .ra and mail order. le syndicat electronique on invasion planete. . - dope, analog electro similar to dopplereffekt, i-f, or even adult transparent sound on solid groove, abstrakt dance, etc. . - four guys from the UK, recording all of their tracks *LIVE*, making some sick electro. . also mixes well with the Scopex record, and alot of Detroit records. . try it with any of Kieth Tucker's material. . mr velcro fastener on i220 dj assault on electro-funk, assault rifle - fuck the club up with XXX vocals. made to move people. frost jockey vol 2 on planet mu - sick, harsh electro airlocktronics on airlock autechre! - you can mix a ton of autechre tracks with electro with a good result. good to start off with. . same with Musik Aus Strom releases. . -Jeffrey Cohen --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
