hmmm...I'll pipe in, in defense of the los angeles area. at least at the few
idm-ish shows that I've attended, I was pleasantly surprised at how many
people were dancing.
both times that I've seen phoenecia (in LA), I didn't get the feeling that
very many people thought they were too cool to boogie. but hey, if you can
sit still through one of phoenecia's live sets, then I'd think you were
putting effort into *not* getting your groove on!
but I remember reading reviews of the same or similar bills hitting other
cities in other states, and being surprised that nobody danced.
