well...no better time to come out of my shell a little and contribute to
what I like to think of as a list for discussing things like, oh...I don't
know...music? maybe semi-"idm" related music?
yep, I agree with frank... the phonem stuff is quite nice. butI think that
"the mechanic verses" (on jetlag) is his first lp. either way, the "hydro
electric" lp and the "phonetik" 12" (both on morr music) are really good.
I guess I'll go out on a limb and say that if you're turned off by anything
and everything that sounds somewhat like it's been influenced by 95-98 era
autechre (like many here have expressed), then you might wanna think twice.
personally, if it sounds good and I like it, then I listen to it.
oh yeah...the 'hydro electric" lp is also available on CD for the vinylly
challenged (and yes, I said "vinylly" ).
hmm...what else? oh yes...I've also been listening to a whole helluva lot of
SND lately. wow! I love this stuff!
I know SND's music has been described and recommended here a few times, and
I'm here to say that I'm very glad I paid attention.
I've all but worn out the locked grooves on my "systems medley" 7" (on city
centre offices)...I've let a couple of them have play for hours at a time.
the tplay & newtables 12"s (snd1 and snd2) made for a lovely soundtrack
last night while I played galaga for way too long last night while waiting
for my girlfriend to let me on the computer so I can get back to deleting
all the wonderful "plur" messages! =)
and a big FAT thanks to lance for playing stuff like this on his
show...there's been more than a few things that I've gotten into after
hearing them on the inaudible show...for all the people on the list who are
constantly asking for recommendations, tune in to shows like lance's and
pietro's and the other webcasted radio shows that play tons of the music
that is talked about around here.
ok then. go back to the plur messages...I kinda like getting them 'cause I'm
getting some wicked rhythms going with the delete button.
enjoy.
