Heard a beautiful Artificial Intelligencetic track entitled "Peschi". >> Let me add on to Lance's fine post: Reload is Mark Pritchard and (sometimes) Tom Middleton, the best production team ever in electronics (well, Mills/Banks UR is probably as good). Here are some recommendations from all their various aliases. The Biosphere EP (Evolution) The Keongaku EP (Evolution) The First Link EP (Evolution) The Symbiotic EP (Symbiotic) Chameleon: Links 12" (Good Looking) These are all EP's recorded during their best period, when they were doing absolutely sublime ambience with touches of 313 sensibility (the Chameleon EP is actually jungle, and the best jungle I've ever heard with the exception of Bukem's "Demons" and "Atlantis (I Need You)"). I'd venture these EP's are among the favorite records of most of the music fanatics on this list. A CD comp compiling EV003-005 and the Symbiotic EP would be a reissue I'd enjoy even more than my pick of the year "Trainer". Global Communication: 76:14 CD (Dedicated) This is _the_ ambient full-length. Not a lot to say about this one other than pick it up immeadiately! If you feel like searching get the Japanese version which is a double disc featuring both "Maiden Voyage" EP's. Whenever I listen to this record I feel much better about existence. Jedi Knights: New School Science CD (Universal Language) Another masterful release. A lot of funk that isn't funky like, say, Moodymann or Theo Parrish, but sounds more like Global Communication given a kick of punchy bass. Some of the tracks are more ambience in the style of the 76:14 disc. I especially like the Radio Active Lamb "Feel So Good" drumline being put to good use. The Reload CD is recommended as well: somehow manages to pull off exceptionally excellent acid/industrial tracks and the last few tracks (the more ambient stuff) are just gorgeous. Certainly one of the best full-lengths in electronic music, next to "Landcruising", "Electro-Soma", etc. Matt --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
