as far as pure softsynths, reaktor (aka generator plus transformator) from native instruments (www.native-instruments.com) is a top notch program from what i've seen. as far the best dsp or sound creation tool, i personally find the kyma system from symbolic sound (www.symbolicsound.com) the most open ended and powerful sound design tool built. it is pricy but not really when on considers what it can do. sure to cure one's gas (gear acquisition syndrome.) however, it is not for the weak of heart or anyone who doesn't like building sounds from the ground up. examples of kyma can be heard in the matrix, the wind in a thin red line, and the thx surround sound trailer. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
