Heh. I pretty much work within the Ryko Palm organization. I won't even touch the "Sun is Shining" remixes, but they did give us all SBL promos in October. Occasionally someone in the A&R room throws it on and I reach for my headphones... I've also heard way more Dieselboy and Breakbeateria than I'm aure OSHA regs would allow. I agree with the larger trend thing, though. I think when the SBL album comes out next year--as well as an album from a band on Dreamworks, one of whose members has made lauded IDM in the past--there might be a renewed popular interest in trip-hop.
