This reminds me of this thread on rec.music.industrial, "how to spot a
rivithead" or some other bollocks (I think the old title was: "how can i
recognize a cool industrial girl?").
Basically what clothing "style" comes down to is functionality and
comfort. I'm always amazed when you see the artists/DJs at a show how much
they look like, well, a bunch of dorks. (Have you ever seen pictures of
Cylob or Mike Paradinas? I rest my case.) Then you see the people AT said
show, and they more often than not have glowsticks, excessively baggy
everythings, piercings with huge colorful lucite jewelery, and so on.
IDM folk have no time or money for gussying themselves up, because they're
actually trying to find records pressed in runs of <100. They wear
Jeans/Kahkis, solid black/color tshirts, black boots or sneakers, 90%
wear glasses. Basically the the same as all the other dorks you know.
