Hmm, I'm just listening to a Hood 7" as I read this and am in love with that
(non-IDM) band. Can anyone who's into Hood as well as Downpour let me know
whether the kinds of electronics that lurk in the background of Hood records
are comparable to the Downpour stuff? I love the atmospheres they make.. the
murk and crust and the found samples that sound like they were recorded via a
pair of walkman headphones or something.
This 7", BTW, is fantastic. It's on Rocket Racer records, who seem to operate
solely via mail order (?). It's more blatantly sample based than other Hood
recordings.. lots of tweaked loops etc. Still very much a band, with vocals
and guitars, just hacked into chunks and re-structured.
