I have no idea why im jumping in on this thread, but suffice it to say Im getting sick of all the angst on this list! Ive been on IDM for years now and I dont remember this much mean-ness since the Gil Gershman shoot-out days! Lemme quote Rodney King fo ya' "Can't we all just GET ALONG???!?!" Is there something in the water? Have y'all not done your Y2K shopping yet? My first reaction to Tom posting to the list for small labels to send in promos was "Gee, what magazine was that? Ill have to pick up an issue if they are interested in THIS music". Its not like youd ever see a Suction - or even a SKAM record reviewed in ad-saturated magazine like Rolling Bone - and if you did, theyd likely toss it aside as art-wank since its not Rockerfeller Skanky or Ibiza enough for college freshmen getting their first tattoos and goatees. Cant speak for everyone here but this list but it is getting really flamey lately. And to slam a music reviewer for announcing to the micro-labels that he'll give them the time of day is horse shit. I wish more 'lazy' reviewers took interest in IDM labels - Id be more interested in reading their publications. jumpin' in where I dont belong- ernie Ernesto Ikerd, (817) 763-4795 Company Graphics, Dept 17, MZ-1156 Lockheed Martin Tactical Aircraft Systems Fort Worth, Texas --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
