some quick reasons to be grateful for vvm ...
. years ago on a car ride, a guy put an old soul compilation in the worlds
worst cassette player and cranked it. as the ensuing motorhead like racket
screamed past my head and out of the window, i said "who is this?". "sam and
dave" he replied. i have never heard sam and dave sound like that before or
since. and now thanks to vvm i can say the same for chas and dave.
. no limits. taking two basic ingredients, noise and pop cheese any given
permutation is possible. noise. cheese. cheese w/ bit of noise, noise w/ a
bit of cheese, cheese w/ a lot of noise... etc. also there is far more pop
cheese out there than, say, the amen break, so the possibilities for
surprise are endless. it also helps if you realise that as an aficionado of
less mainstream music, pop novelties can be more like noise to you than
noise can.
. larger lumps of weasel. alien porno midgets. man in a pig suit. that would
be humour then.
. not prog enough for alternative press.
