I'm also a cellist. And I agree. Talk about 'rest-proof-clockwork' -- playing
Mozart symphonies in an orchestra made me feel like a gear inside a big machine.
Maybe I played under the wrong conductors or something, but playing Mozart has
all the precision and emotional resonance of running an air wrench on an assembly
line.
And now for something completely different -- the new Icarus (on shadow records in
the US, Recordings of Substance UK) kicks major ass. It's the Photek album Photek
would make if he wasn't tearing around the English countryside spending Sony's money...
