I completely and totally disagree. The studio 1 series, to me, is one of the funkiest sets of records out there. There's something about the bounce factor in the way those rhythms are programmed that absolutely slays me every time. The purple 12" is as funky, to me, as any James Brown record. (IDM...threads.....merging......help.....) As Irene just mentioned, they're fantastic for mixing. I, on the other hand, am perfectly content to listen to the CD all the way through, preferably in the car with the bass on crunk (Mos Def album, anyone?).
