ive only listened to this comp once but i thought it was pretty interesting. especially the surgeon remix. i was expecting either some stripped down minimal techno or deranged ambient soundscapes and instead i was surprised to find hes exploring jungle now. (the oval does squarepusher mix was another one that took me by suprise). i cant say i thought every track was great but it was nice to see artists exploring new avenues. sometimes, for me anyway, i need to be in the right environment before i really begin to enjoy certain albums. for instance ill pick something up, listen to it once or twice, and then let it sit for a while. later on, maybe a friend will come by and borrow it, record it to tape, and ill hear it while we are driving around--all of a sudden it sounds great and i wonder why i didnt like it the first time...
