Glen,
You should definitely also pick up the Thule label's "Fishcake" compilation,
and really, anything else you can find on the label. I've also got Oz
Artists' "Ooger" 2xLP, and both records are excellent (if *slightly* housier
at points) minimal techno affairs, much boom-tss goodness. I'm not sure
which Sturm record you have -- if it's the ep, make sure you get the double
LP, which is largely dark drony ambient, but has one track that's a real
killer, floor-wise.
I'm also a big fan of Mika Vainio's Philus ep on Sakho, for really
stripped-down spaces.
Finally, you'd probably enjoy most anything on Kompakt, another Wolfgang
Voigt-affiliated label; my favorite of all is still Dettinger (both the CD
and the 12"s). Imagine the Koln minimal sound run through the ambient
washing machine... Breathtaking.
Cheers,
Phil
(for more minimalia, don't forget Urban Sounds' special feature, including
interviews & full-length tracks from Brinkmann, Carsten Nicolai, Stewart
Walker, Taylor Deupree, Richie Hawtin & Steve Reich:
