I know this is kind of off-topic, but I should mention (if people don't know already) that Technics lost the patent on their legendary 1200's about four years ago, and since then a number of decent "clones" have been popping up. The best of which in my opinion is the Gemini PT-1000.... I bought one four years ago, and it's really nice. Same torque, +/- 10% pitch control, and quartz locking.... also, for a cartridge check out the Stanton 680... it's not supah great for DJing but perfect for primo broadcast-quality recording... the 505's are nice for DJing (much better sound quality than the 500's) but until you get to crazy stuff like trackmasters, etc. (at $80-$150 each) you'll do fine with the 680. Soz you know. Aaron --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
