I'm looking to get a MiniDisc recorder to do field recordings/found sound
type of things and was wondering which brand to get. Also any
recommendations for mics would be appreciated as well.
And as far as IDM content goes...
I picked up the If.Then.Else cd on Emenate a few weeks ago and I liked it
so much that I ran out and bought the other 2 cds offered by the label--
the Emanated comp & the Lilienthal cd! Tasty, melodic IDM with
interesting rhytmic pulses. Should be appeal to those with a pallete for
92-94 era IDM/ambient. It's not incredibly 'innovative' but I find myself
listening to it more than the AE-esque DSP stuff (as opposed to the real
deal). Not that I have anything against DSP sound fuckery but the music on
Emanate seems to have some more personality for lack of a better word.
