* The "Oralolio" 12-inch on the Ersatz Audio label. "Lost Love" is the best vocal electro track since I-f's "Space Invaders Are Smoking Grass." * The second best follow-up to "Space Invaders" comes via I-f himself -- "Secret Desire," the story of a forlorn vocoder ("like Giorgio Morodor") who's fallen in love with a human. (it's the only vocal track on _The Man From Pack_, but the rest of the album is good too.) * Gerhard Potuznik, specifically the three or four tracks on Concorde+ that feature vocals. Exceptionally hooky. * Hat's _DSP Holiday_ contains *the most stunning* piece of electronic pop i've ever heard, "Shinjyuku Photoshop" (vocals by Tetsu Inoue). the rest of the album is just as good musically, but that's the only vocal track. * Various tracks on Nobukazu Takemura's _Funfair_ and _Child and Magic_ albums feature prominent vocals, although they're rarely lyrical (mostly wordless, singsongy intonations, but still *very* pop). * Kandis' "Claps" EP on Karaoke Kalk features some softly sung vocal bits on a couple of tracks. * Takako Minekawa's _Roomic Cube_ and _Cloudy Cloud Calculator_ both feature moments that recall, variously, Aphex Twin, Kraftwerk, the (American) Dust Brothers, and _Smile_-era Beach Boys. sc
