I'd steer clear of the mixed disc and get the unmixed vinyl compilation. Juan has good taste in music, and has created some classic music (not to mention his newest Infiniti record on Tresor, which is pretty damn good). HOWEVER. His mixing is absolutely horrible on this disc. No matter how you look at it (and I like "raw" mixing like Jeff Mills, Shake, etc), it's very poor. If you're looking for a mix disc of Detroit techno, I'd recommend the DJ Rolando "Aztec Mystic Mix" on Submerge (www.submerge.com). Starts off with "Knights of the Jaguar" (techno tune of the summer!) and runs from there. Great mixing, great tracks, moves between techno, electro, and high-tech funk (as UR puts it). Highly recommended. Cheers, Bill / dj marathon -- Sigma6 Interactive Media (a division of AppNet) / http://www.sigma6.com http://www.detroitpeoplemover.com
