Maybe it was another list I'm on, but I'm pretty sure that I saw a couple
of mentions of a band from New Zealand called The Necks here on IDM fairly
recently.
Well, I'm currently listening to a promo of their 1994 album "Aquatic"
which has been liscenced by Carpet Bomb and will be released in a few
weeks. It's wonderful, hypnotic stuff - two long tracks of piano/Hammond,
bass and percussion, merging to create a sort of alien ambient jazz. Not
what you might expect from Carpet Bomb, but damn cool.
