on the 313 list a few months back we had a discussion about epic techno songs. i seem to remember a 15 minute techno song being a decidedly 1993-4 phenomenon. i'm probably gonna embarrass myself, but there are three tracks that spring to mind as great: laurent garnier, "acid eiffel", 1993, 14 minutes; sabres of paradise, "smokeblech II" david holmes mix, 1993 (?), 15 minutes; sven vath, "l'esperanza", 1994, 12 minutes. for real long stuff, look into vladislav delay. his album on chain reaction, _multila_, has a really great 24-minute beaty track. on his ambient side, _entan_ on mille plateaux has four 16-minute+ tracks. and for drum'n'bass, the carpet bomb label comp _highways over gardens_ has a handful of really epic, shifting, changing tracks. * #### a disturbance in a system. #### laerm. @voicenet.com ##:# no particular place names/no particular song icq 5562209 i've been hiding/what am i hiding from? --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
