I certainly empathize with your situation.
sun electric might be something you should try. i recommend the Via Nostra
album, if you can find it. there are some very good tracks on there,
musically it's like a more blatantly electronic spanners era black dog, if
that makes sense. classic packaging too from when dR was busy and new.
for more recent things you might enjoy, you could check out the new fila
brazilla album, or the west by matmos, or . both are memorable and feature
really well done fusion of electronic and 'real life' sounds. also anything
on kracfive recently has been kickass. all the above are quality, refreshing
music that is free from idm cliches in a cool rare way.
