i used to be really excited about d&b when it had long left the underground
and was becoming the big thing in 95-96. this excitement peaked with no u
turn's torque, and from then on i all but completely lost interest in
what's happening to d&b because i listened to one huge disappointment after
the other - the era of overhyped, emotionless, unimaginative noodling (yes,
noodling) that was started with roni size's newforms [what a god-foresaken
piece of shit] and most recently brought ed rush & optical's wormhole. it's
very much possible that i'm just missing something - can anyone explain to
me what the difference is between any given early no u turn release and the
ever-so-futuristic wormhole? i'd be glad to know because i still like d&b a
lot - especially in a club setting. luke vibert spun one killer techstep
set at a rephlex night recently, btw.
